CHARLES GRUENWALD, MD FACS

Dr. Gruenwald is a 1969 graduate of Duke University School of Medicine. He completed a surgery internship and year of general surgery residency in New York City, at State University of New York, Kings County Hospital. Following this was completion of a three-year residency in otolaryngology at Harvard University Medical School, in Boston. He finished formal medical training in 1978, completing a two-year plastic surgery residency with the University of Utah College of Medicine, in Salt Lake City.

 

Dr. Gruenwald began his plastic surgery practice in 1978, when he helped establish "Associates in Plastic Surgery" in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was one of the principal plastic surgeons for that group, for 3 decades. For 25 years, of that time, he also was affiliated with LSU, as an associate professor in plastic surgery for the Division of Surgery, LSU School of Medicine.

 

In early 2010, Dr. Gruenwald availed himself of the opportunity to devote full attention to the area of his professional passion, the current and dynamic field of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. To make this possible, he relocated to a new contemporary office, specifically designed to accommodate his active aesthetic surgical practice. Dr. Gruenwald is now able to provide an enhanced personal and professional experience to those patients wishing to explore the many facets of contemporary aesthetic surgery. He is, of course, maintaining the same level of expertise and skill for which his distinguished professional reputation has grown and thrived in the Baton Rouge community.

 

In recent years, Dr. Gruenwald has experienced a significant growth in his aesthetic labia surgery practice. This often draws patients from great distances, as well as the nearby cities of New Orleans and Lafayette, LSU and other surrounding universities, and, of course, the greater Baton Rouge metropolitan area.
